Terms of use

Last updated 20 October 2026. This is a product MVP; these terms are a plain-language baseline and should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before a commercial launch.

1. What this service is

Rekomend is a marketplace where freelancers, consultants and small studios in any field can publish a professional profile and collect references from people who say they worked with them. Buyers can browse public profiles without an account.

We provide the workflow — invitations, email confirmation, moderation, publication, and enquiry delivery. We are not a recruitment agency, a payment processor, or a party to any contract between a professional and a buyer.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must provide accurate account information, keep your password secure, and be old enough to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction. One person or organisation should not maintain misleading duplicate accounts.

You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Referrals and referee consent

Professionals may invite former clients or colleagues by email. Professionals must not write, edit, coerce, or approve a referral about themselves, and must not offer payment or benefits in exchange for a positive referral.

Referees submit their own statements. They must confirm control of the invited email address and consent to publication. A referee may withdraw a published referral at any time using the private management link we email them.

A referral expresses one person's experience. It is not a rating, a guarantee, or a statement by the platform about a professional's competence.

4. Verification labels are limited

We use labels that describe exactly what happened: an email address was confirmed, a moderator reviewed a submission, private evidence was inspected, or a relationship was independently corroborated. We do not automatically call anyone a “verified client”.

Email confirmation proves control of an email address, not a working relationship. Moderation checks completeness and suitability; it is not a quality audit. Evidence is private and is never published.

5. Moderation and removal

We may request more information, reject a submission, remove content, suspend an account, or restrict features when we believe content is false, abusive, infringing, or otherwise unsuitable. Internal moderation notes are private.

You can report a profile or referral through the report form. We review reports but do not guarantee a particular outcome or response time.

6. Buyers and enquiries

Buyer enquiries are delivered to the professional and are not published. Do not use the enquiry form to send spam, harassment, or unlawful content. Do not include sensitive personal data that is not needed to describe your project.

Any engagement, fee, scope, and contract are agreed directly between the buyer and the professional. We do not handle payments in this MVP and do not guarantee work quality.

7. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to access private evidence, another person's account, or non-public data; do not scrape the service at a rate that degrades it; do not upload malware; do not impersonate another person; and do not use the service to break the law.

We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate access to protect the service and its users.

8. Content and licence

You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant us a limited licence to store, display, moderate, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the service. This licence ends for public content when you remove it, subject to backups and legal retention.

Do not upload content you do not have the right to share. Portfolio entries and external links are supplied by professionals, and we do not verify their accuracy.

9. Availability, liability, and changes

The service is provided on an “as available” basis. This MVP may change, break, or be discontinued. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

We may update these terms and will change the date below. Continued use after a material change means you accept the updated terms.
